We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (m/f/d) for a client operating in a highly regulated fintech environment.
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services within a Kotlin/Spring Boot microservices architecture. Design and implement scalable event-driven workflows and distributed systems. Build and maintain RESTful APIs for internal services and external clients. Contribute to workflow orchestration, ledger systems, and backend platform components. Ensure system reliability, observability, fault tolerance, and auditability across services. Collaborate closely with Product, QA, Security, and Compliance teams in a regulated environment. Implement secure authentication and authorization flows using OAuth2/OIDC standards. Participate in code reviews and contribute to clean architecture, developer experience, and platform improvements.
Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong JVM background. Hands-on experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot in production environments. Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures. Experience with messaging systems and patterns such as idempotency, outbox patterns, and dead-letter handling. Strong PostgreSQL experience including schema design, migrations, and performance tuning. Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating third-party platforms.
Start date: asap, latest 20.06.2026. Full-time, at least 4 days. Duration: 3 months (with possible Extension), 100% remote.
